General Membership Meeting on January 5, 2001. DRAFT 21 JAN 2001

The meeting is held at the American Red Cross Chapter, Long Beach, as announced and called to order by President John Rogers KF6TTR at 7:00 p.m. The business meeting tonight will be very brief.

The Flag Salute is led by Frank Spencer KA6BUY.

Visitor Visitors, if present, are not identified in the group.

Secretary’s Report Secretary Tom Gibbons W9EYB reports the minutes for the December 1 General Membership Meeting and the December 4 Board of Directors Meeting (draft) are available tonight for review. The Annual Meeting of the corporation and installation of Year 2001 directors and director-officers will be during the club banquet on January 27, 2001 at the Long Beach Chapter American Red Cross, 6 p.m. Banquet tickets are on sale at $15 through the treasurer.

Treasurer’s Report Waived.

Announcements - Annual banquet tickets are available through the treasurer. Mark your calendar for good company and a fine meal the evening of Saturday, January 27, 2001. Tickets $15.00 each.

- The Friday club net is 7 p.m. on 145.520 MHz simplex (except meeting

nights). Members and visitors are encouraged to check in. Get involved!

- The Thursday ARES nets: 6:30 p.m. on the 449.780 MHz repeater (131.8 PL) and 223.800 MHz repeater (156.7 PL), also at 6:45 p.m. on the 1.2 GHz repeater. The 7 p.m. net on 145.520 MHz simplex for Los Angeles County ARES, Southeast Section. Hear the weekly amateur radio news report starting at 6:45 p.m.

The president introduces Nancy Sheriff KC6PZA, of the Long Beach Red Cross Chapter, presenting the program “Introduction to Disaster Services.” The program is approximately 1.5 hours.

Following the program, motion to adjourn made, second. No discussion. The motion is approved. The meeting is adjourned at 8:35 p.m.

The next General Membership Meeting is scheduled for Friday, February 2, 2001 7 p.m. in the Signal Hill Community Center. Talk-in on 145.520 MHz simplex.

The next Board of Directors meeting is scheduled for Monday, January 8, 2001 7 p.m. at the home of Carol KF6THS and George Apt KF6THT, Long Beach. Members are welcome. Talk in on 145.520 MHz simplex.
