I started playing woodwinds (
Clarinet and Sax ) and got my ham license in the 9 th grade and I've
kept
up with both! I am currently a member of the
Long Beach Community Band
I play clarinet
( Alto and B-flat )
in the Shoreline Concert Band, and Alto Sax in the Blue Pacific Swing Band.
If you click on the
link to our web site, and you have your Windows Media Player installed,
you'll
here the Shoreline band
playing Sousa's Washington Post March a great way to test your PC speakers
if
you're working on a
PC for a friend! There are other tunes available as downloadable MP3
files.
I also am the primary person
for updating the web site, but the design credit goes to a former French
Horn player of ours, Dave Lyons.
We performed
at the Reform Party Convention in 2000, we play concerts in the part around
Long Beach
( were not the Muni band, we're the 'other', non-professional band! ), and
our swing band is in big
demand- we do a USO show in Houghton Park after the Veteran's Day parade
every year, and we
frequently play at the Long Beach Dance Centre, Ocean and Granada.
Come hear us sometimes - dates
are always on the 'Hear' button on our home page

This 35 member band is the main performing group in the LBCB.
This group has been performing for over 50 years and is the featured
group in our annual summer “Neighborhood Concert “ series. Typically,
they perform in 12-15 concerts a year. For these concerts 3-5 different
programs are prepared, ranging from light classical to modern pop music.
